Sila Signalbau - 25 years red, yellow, green
A look at our company history shows a long family tradition. For 25 years now, Sila Signalbau has been an owner-managed company that has firmly established itself in the industry regionally in the Bergisches Kreis as well as far beyond the borders of Germany and has secured a pioneering position in new technologies and convenient additional tools.
1989
In 1989, Peter Labudda had the necessary pioneering spirit and, together with his wife Ingrid Labudda, laid the foundation for the Sila Signalbau company with commitment and courage. In a small workshop in Voiswinkel, light signal systems with cable operation and simple versions with radio operation are initially developed and sold. Additional services in the field of electrical installations are also offered.
1990
Due to the increasing number of inquiries, the company Sila Signalbau is relying on the deployment of new employees for the sales and construction of new traffic light systems. Mr. Peter Labudda developed the Sila trademark - the plastic trolley for mobile traffic light systems - which is still sold today. The company Sila Signalbau is pioneering the further development of radio traffic lights, which are equipped with a quartz background control at separate construction sites where radio problems can arise.
1991
The sales success, the higher demand for services and the utilization in the area of electrical installation require new business premises, which can be found on Richard-Seiffert-Strasse on 150m². The first visit to the trade fair in Leipzig is imminent.
1992
The first trade fair in Munich, Bauma 1992, was a complete success. Our simple quartz system and a radio traffic light for one-way operation were well received by our customers. Towards the end of the year the first 4 groups of radio traffic light systems will be delivered.
1993
The company concept is expanded again. This year the management decides to include the area of traffic safety in your company concept. From now on, customers have only one contact person for the complete traffic protection of their construction site. At the same time, the development of the 8-group control unit LK 8000 begins.
1994
In order to be able to participate in larger projects, the development of the 24-group crossing system LK 5000 begins in September 1994.
1995
With external help, the first major project, the LK 8000 intersection, is completed. This means that traffic and construction site protection is also possible in this area. New business premises are opened on Buchholzstr. found on approx. 700m². There are now 12 employees.
1996
Establishment of a branch for the "rental of building security and traffic light systems" in Bottrop. The first prototype of the LK 5000 is available with the Gevas Trends core operating system.
1997
Start of the development of an 8-group radio traffic light system type "Intercombi". Due to the modular structure, the system can be freely programmed.
1998
The Bauma in Munich is coming up and the first LK 5000 rental system is being delivered. At the end of 1998, sales of the new intersection control began. In addition, the LED technology of the Sila signal systems is being further developed. Initially in cauliflower form with 20 LEDs, but already 50% electricity savings. From now on, the battery change cycle of the traffic light systems has been halved.
1999
The newly developed Intercombi is ready. From now on it is possible for the Sila to offer 8 groups radio or radio cable mixed operation. This system can prove its worth especially with short construction times. A new infrared motion detector is also being developed, which will be built into the Sila traffic light systems from now on.
2000
In cooperation with the company CAME, their products are sold especially in mobile barrier operation. Often useful, especially on tram construction sites, to prevent motorists from hitting the rails.
2001
Relocation of the branch in Bottrop, as the premises no longer corresponded to the space requirements. Increase in staff to 5 employees.
2002
After the sudden death of Mr. Peter Labudda, Mrs. Ingrid Labudda continues the business. She is supported by her eldest son, Andreas Labudda, who has just finished his apprenticeship. Together with a good and reliable workforce, you will master this difficult time.
2005
Strengthening of own development by hiring a developer and first new developments in the field of LED and quartz light signal systems.
2006
After careful consideration, the management makes the decision to close its branch in Bottrop in order to concentrate on the core business in a centralized manner. The Bergisch Gladbach location is being strengthened again. Now 24 people are employed. The new developments in the field of LED are introduced into the rental systems. Customers and the Sila are pleased with the fact that the battery change intervals are shortened. The LQ 206 is being tested by customers for the first time.
2007
Bauma opens its doors and Sila is exhibiting again with the LQ 206 and various developments. The automatic frequency switch is enjoying growing popularity. The new LEDs now only consume 1/10 of the electricity of a halogen lamp. The distinguishing feature of the Sila company, the plastic trolley, is becoming more innovative and has a new design. The succession plan is set in motion and after completing his degree in business administration, Mr. Andreas Labudda takes over the position of authorized officer.
2008
Mr. Frank Labudda joins the company after completing his electrical engineering degree. Together with Mr. Schuch, he supports the further development of the company. Due to the increasing interest and requirements, special solutions are offered for the traffic light area. Traffic training areas at schools, motorway flow control or traffic jam reporting systems are just some of the special solutions that we provide.
2009
We have responded to the increased request from forest companies for an inexpensive and visually recognizable traffic light system and have since been offering a control unit with which the road can be blocked by hand remote control. A specially developed LED technology helps every road user to reliably recognize the light of our traffic lights (antiphantom light) - of course, tested and with a certificate from the Federal Roads Office!
2010
Sila starts developing new software for planning traffic flows. Bauma starts in April 2010 and Sila presents its latest project, Sila Controll. The modular LSA enables the customer to start with a one-way change to the LSA and to expand his range depending on the order situation. The components that are installed fit into the small systems as well as into the maximum configuration of 32 groups. Only the power supply is different.
2012
The Sila starts with the renovation of the new warehouse and the expansion of the Sila Controll product range to include the FG-Schutz-LSA. The 8 group & 32 group control units will be presented as a prototype at Intertraffic 2012. This means that in future all Sila controls will have a modular structure. A big advantage for our customers, as there are no many different spare parts and with the spare parts bag the technician always has the right spare part with him. The move to the new premises begins in the middle of the year.
2013
After a long winter, the Sila Controll K8 is being tested on the road for the first time. The Sila Controll-Funk receives a new feature and can now be synchronized with cable-controlled crossings by means of a syn point.
2014
In March 2014, Sila Signalbau presented the "Sila Controll Mobile" accessory card and the associated online software "Ampel-Online" for the first time at Intertraffic Amsterdam. In this year, the sales sector was also expanded to Scandinavia.
2016
